A brand new scholarship is going to begin in October 2015 and it’s going to cover the complete cost of a two-year course—including living expenses for one student a year. The scholarship is in dedication and remembrance of L Wren Scott who sadly took her life early in 2014—but because of this scholarship she will never be forgotten.
Family members, friends and students continue to honor her. Mick Jagger has just announced a three-year scholarship in L’Wren’s name—it will be awarded at Central Saint Martins in Massachusetts. And it will be in London for all fashion students.
L’Wren and Louise Wilson were pretty close friends—she was the former director to “Fashion Course.” And tragically passed away last year.
Interestingly, L’Wren never attended the school but she had a large fascination with the school.
Before they accepted the scholarship gift, the director made some nice comments stating he was greatful and it’s very generous and went on to state:
“I am very grateful to receive this extremely generous scholarship package, gifted by Mick Jagger in L’Wren Scott’s name. Our students sacrifice much to take up this course and work extremely hard when they are here. I am proud of the fact that this course…continues to be recognized as a major contributor to the future of the global fashion Industry.”
It’s honestly one of the most touching ways to honor someone with such passion. And we know that L’Wren would be super supportive, loving and happy right now. And she’s probably smiling down on the whole cause as we speak.
