X-Men Apocalypse is the upcoming entry to the X-Men series from Fox, directed by Bryan Singer and currently rumored for release next year. This entry into the series is going to be set in the 1980s, in between first class and the early 2000s X-Men trilogy. This will include younger versions of the protagonists in the X-Men team including Cyclops, played by James Marsden previously, Storm played by Halle Berry previously, and Jean Grey previously played by Famke Janssen. On Thursday Bryan Singer announced that the new cast will include Tye Sheridan playing Cyclops. Tye Sheridan was previously seen in Mud playing Ellis. Alexandra Shipp, who played KT Rush in House of Anubish, will be Storm. And finally, Sophie Turner who played Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, will be cast as Jean Grey. This is an amazing cast of young stars and I’m confident that they will excel at their roles. There’s still such little information out there about the movie, but it seems that it’s going to be an exciting movie, which X-Men fans have been wanting for far too long. Let’s hope that with these young stars, X-Men fans will get what they’ve been asking for.
