Falling Short Is Never Failing

“Success is going from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.”
-Winston Churchill
I have this dream, a dream where my failures will one day turn to success. I’m sure you’ve all heard this phrase in one form or another. I guess you can say, I really like my dream to be a professional screen-writer and director. I remember when I was just twelve, watching the sitcom FRIENDS and just loving every single bit of it. My dream became a reality when I started to debate the fact that I loved to make people laugh. My life had been full of challenges, my escape was simple, go to my room and watch friends, I would then laugh and feel better.

You see—this dream that I have it isn’t a dream anymore because I’ve made it a goal. Dreams turn into reality when you write them down as goals and pursue them. Take action; and never give up. Fact is, you’re going to fail, a lot and it’s going to sting. My reality is, I have a lot to learn. I’ve taken classes in college, written two feature-length screenplays and five shorts. I’ve filmed commercials and worked on many different sets, but that doesn’t mean I’m perfect by any means. Someone very wise once told me ‘It’s not practice that makes perfect,’ its ‘perfect practice makes perfect.’ When you go into your life and start doing what you love, whether it be writing, nursing, singing or any dream for that matter, go into that dream practicing perfectly. One day you will be an expert.

Remember one very, very extremely important matter, you will fall short some-days. Falling short of your goal never means that you are a failure. You only fail if you quit. I love each and every single one of my supporters. Those of you that read my blog have come to see that my writing isn’t perfect, my blogging isn’t nearly as wonderful as my screenplays. But—do you know what truly matters? I don’t give up, I keep writing, I keep trying to entertain and help others with my own experiences.

Each of you are very special. You have your own unique talent, whether it be, soccer, writing, basketball, singing, acting or modeling. Follow that dream but make sure when you do—that you turn it into a goal, because that’s when you turn dreams into reality. I’ve told many people before, I love screen-writing. It creates an atmosphere where I can create my own alternate reality, my own characters, develop a new world and make others laugh. If you know me very well, you know I’m a jokester. I love pranks, laughing, being crazy and always being random and up for new adventures.

So remember, be yourself, create a goal so you can begin following your dreams—most important, do not ever, ever let anyone tell you that you’re not good enough.
Because you are!
