Mel Gibson creating sequel to “Passion of the Christ,” called “The Resurrection.”
Mel Gibson is back at it creating magic on the big screen. He just opened up to the New York Daily News about his next project. Remember “The Passion of the Christ?” Well, he’s going to be making a “sequel.” (I put that in quotes because he hasn’t wanted to call it a sequel). When questioned about the film he shared a little information saying:
“We’re talking about that. Of course that’s a huge undertaking, and it’s not The Passion 2 – it’s called the Resurrection.”
Mel Gibson has said the film will focus on the resurrection. And Randall Wallace (the screenwriter for “The Passion of the Christ,” will be joining the crew as the writer. And don’t you think he did an excellent job last time? Did you know that Wallace also wrote “Braveheart?”
Yeah—it’s going to be a good film, that’s a fact.
Wallace opened up to the Hollywood Reporter about wanting to tell the story. He said:
“I always wanted to tell this story,” Wallace HR. “The Passion is the beginning, and there’s a lot more story to tell.”
And there really is a lot more story to tell. We can’t wait to hear more the Passion of the Christ sequel and what Mel Gibson and his team has planned for the big screen.
