Zendaya claims she was refused service at a Store due to her “Skin Color.”
That’s right, what a disappointing headline but there’s a positive spin (I promise). After all, that’s why Zendaya is speaking out. She feels that the world needs more work. The 20-year-old actress has claimed that she was refused service at a Vons supermarket because of her skin tone.
And Zendaya took a Snapchat of the whole ordeal. She opened up talking about how she was unable to buy $400 in gift cards at Vons because the work “wasn’t a huge fan,” of her skin color. Then she went on to describe how the worker was rude and told her she couldn’t purchase the cards “throwing,” her wallet at her and dismissing the situation.
Zendaya hopes that she can use this situation to raise awareness. She feels there’s “so much progress,” that still needs to be made in today’s world. (People truly can be so mean and I’ve seen some of the worst and most racist videos lately, what’s going on with the world)? Don’t you feel it’s unacceptable?
The beautiful lady sums it all up by being the bigger person. She said she didn’t have any hard feelings toward the worker and concluded her Snapchat story by saying that the manager has reached out to her and helped get her everything she needed in the first place.
