Shannon Purser opens up about self harm & recovery!
The one and only Shannon Purser has opened up about her past regarding self harm. The Stranger Things actress took to Twitter and shared some inspiring advice for those who might be going through hard times in life.
After marking the tweet with a “Trigger Warning,” she said:
“I haven’t self-harmed in years, but I kept this around, ‘just in case.’ I forgot it was there & now it’s in the trash,” she wrote, along with a photo of an unused razor. Recovery is possible. Please don’t give up on yourself.”
The truth is life isn’t easy and sometimes we all look for ways to feel better. But self harm is not one of the ways we should find comfort. Remember you can always talk to a friend or trusted family member and if you don’t feel you can talk to anyone, did you know you can talk to someone anonymously? You can contact the self-injury hotline at 1-800-366-8288 and you can visit their official website (selfinjury.com).
Remember to be strong and never give up because you are worth it and we all go through hard times. The feelings that you have now are temporary. They will go away and life always changes. Be strong in all that you do and above all believe in yourself, you’re worth more than you could imagine.
